Any metal or plastic plate incised or worked in relief can be first inked in the depressions (intaglio inked) and then surface rolled, thus combining relief and intaglio processes. To prepare the plate for etching, it is first polished to remove all scratches and imperfections from the surface. In etching, the plate can be made of iron, copper, or zinc. This is cobalt, and it will change a bit as there is still some yellow left from the relief inking.
